Cargo bikes come in two versions: with two- or three-wheels. Each version has its own advantages, depending on what you are looking for in a bike. A three-wheel cargo bike has two-wheels under the cargo box and one rear wheel. This provides extra stability, especially when standing still or driving slowly. The difference between a cargo bike with a rear-wheel motor and a mid-motor is mainly in the riding feel and power. A rear-wheel motor pushes you forward, so to speak. This sometimes feels a bit unnatural, but is fine for flat rides and a lighter load. In addition, this type of motor is usually cheaper. A middle motor, on the other hand, sits near the pedals and provides a natural and powerful pedaling feel. This motor also uses the gears, making it easier to accelerate and climb hills. This makes it ideal for daily use with children or heavy shopping, but it is a bit more expensive. Do you prefer a smooth, strong and stable ride? Then the mid-motor is often the better choice.
